CERTIFICATION

Mark II certification

It is an aim of UKSMA to enhance the standing of those who perform Function Point Analysis (FPA) and to enable Function Point (FP) analysts to demonstrate to prospective clients and employers that they are competent to perform the task. UKSMA achieves this aim by administering a MKII FPA certification scheme. Applicants are required to sit an examination, and if successful a certificate will be awarded and they will be entitled to use the designation “Certified Function Point Analyst” (CFPA).

IFPUG certification

IFPUG offer 2 certification examinations, Certified Function Point Specialist (CFPS) and Certified Software Measurement Specialist. UKSMA does not offer these examinations

COSMIC certification

COSMIC at the moment offers an Entry Level examination, but has plans for an Advanced Level examination soon. The Examinations are run by third parties on behalf of COSMIC.

UKSMA can also arrange examinations for the COSMIC certification scheme.

Select from the options on the right menu bar to find out more about the different certifications.
